At Edward Robertson we understand that for many, it's important to spark an evolution, rather than a revolution. Ensuring a new website delights new and returning visitors with subtle, but successful changes is a delicate balance to strike, but one we all agree was met in the project. The result is a contemporary, high-performing website that feels both fresh and familiar.

We enhanced the front end and rebuilt backend, all while preserving the brand identity and user patterns that made the original site trusted and successful. Here's a recap of some of the things we worked on:
Visually, we said goodbye to tight spacing, smaller fonts, dense product grids, and hello to whitespace, larger hero imagery, card-based layouts, and a contemporary sans-serif type.
Introducing a new functionality, like a Sticky cart and Pull out basket means shoppers can add to and reference their list of items as they move around the site. The ability to Save and Share products with others invites visitors to extend their reach, too.
A redesigned Navigation places emphasis on the scope of products for sale, and offers lesser-visited pages (such as About) a smaller footprint.
An "All Products" page that is built on custom product schema allows visitors the chance to search thousands of title directly by text, or refine across a plethora of attributes - from School Year, to Subject and Format. E-commerce relies on visitors finding their reading materials, and fast.
Functionality that readers expect in this sub-category, such as 'Look inside', Stock Level availability, and Series links are brought to the fore on product pages, and engaging, energetic landing pages, for the business's popular School Programmes are hand crafted to suit the audience, with supporting video content, popular freebies and flip-book functionality.

This project demonstrates that effective redesign isn't always about bold transformation. Sometimes the most sophisticated solution is knowing exactly how much to change - and how much to keep.
