Are You Reliant on Organic Search Engine Traffic? If So, Beware

If you use google regularly, you will have seen the shift towards paid ads taking up more and more of the page. In fact, according to an article by Wordstream, paid ads now take up over 85% of the screen space above the fold.

They also report that 45% of people can't tell the difference between paid and organic listings, and 64% of clicks go to PPC. Less than 9% of the clicks go to the site in the number one organic position.

Couple that with the double whammy organic SEO has had from the Panda and the Penguin updates, and you can see that Google is waging a war on free clicks.

If you rely solely on organic listings for your business, now might be the time to consider trying out a little pay per click advertising.  Get in touch and we can give you some advice on getting the most out of it.

There is a wonderful infographic at http://www.wordstream.com/articles/google-ads which is worth a look.
