Please read this guide right to the end to ensure that you are able to send mail.

The images in this guide show Outlook 2002, future versions may differ slightly. If your screen is massively different from those below, please go back and view the correct instructions for your software or try the Outlook 2007 instructions.


 
1. Open your email program and click "Tools" and then "E-mail Accounts" like so:




2. Click the "Add a new e-mail account" radio button and then "Next >" like so:



3. Click the "POP3" radio button and then "Next >" like so:




4. Fill out the 6 boxes shown below, then click the "More Settings" button like so:
Please note, often the "Test Account Settings" button does not work even when the account is configured correctly.




5. In the "More Settings" window, click the "Outgoing Server" tab, then tick the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" checkbox. Finally ensure that the "Use same settings as my incoming server" radio button is selected before clicking "OK"




6. Click "Next >" or "Finish" at the bottom of the window on your screen.




7. You should now see this screen - simply click "Finish"




8. If you can see the following screen - please click "Finish" (bottom right)




WHAT TO DO NEXT:



Please send an email to dave@edwardrobertson.co.uk or to chris@edwardrobertson.co.uk (or to your own email address or one of your colleagues) to test that your account is fully operational.



ERRORS OR NON-RECEIPT:



You should be aware that emails may take a few minutes (or even longer) to reach the recipient.


If your mail has not been returned within 3 hours or you get an error message please call us on 01325 489 300 - error messages usually begin with "0x800" and can help us determine problems much faster.
