Our email accounts** are standard POP3 accounts and should be fully compatible with all computers and software. If your e-mail software is not listed above please refer to the documentation. You can still call us but the support we can offer will be limited in this circumstance.
Important Notes about Email
POP3 Email / IMAP Accounts
Unless you are using Google Apps, your email account is a standard POP3 account** and should be installed as such during the setup wizard. If you install your account as an IMAP account then it may not function correctly. Please call us if you wish to use IMAP rather than the POP3 standard.
Accounts that reference 123-reg.co.uk in the outgoing server may use IMAP or POP3 but the server must be configured to match the account. (IMAP: imap.123-reg.co.uk | POP3: pop.123-reg.co.uk)
Delete from Server Settings (POP3 only)
If your email software has an option for "delete mail from server once downloaded" - please enable this. Similarly, if your software has an option for "leave a copy of messages on server" please disable this or set the associated time period to 7 days or less. Failure to do so could result in your mailbox filling up and incoming emails being returned to the sender.
Further Problems
PCs running Outlook 2002 on Windows Vista have a known problem where POP3 passwords are not stored on the system. If you experience this problem you need to install the latest Microsoft Office updates. Unfortunately, even this does not always rectify the problem and you may need to update your email software.
If you experience problems of a different nature during or after setup please call the person named on the list above or on the instruction guide for your specific software.
* For Mac (Apple Macintosh) desktop computers, please speak to Allen, Chris or Mike.
** Edward Robertson may not be the provider of your email account. If you have your own hosting arrangement with another company then the email account in question may not be a standard POP3 account.
